Out of shear bloodymindedness, I have just tried it again. This morning I tried Chrome for Windows 8 64-bit (instead of the 32-bit version that did not work yesterday) and had a new problem wherein the Garmin site said "my system was not supported for Communicator" - or something along those lines. I have downloaded and am installing the map update. You'll be presented with the map once you clear this.

If you're using Chrome you'll get an option to translate the page (I set mine to autotranslate that's why I used Firefox for the Thai screengrab above)įor your userid/password. So, obviously, you click "Thailand" and you end up here:Īnd you then click on the "City Navigator" link. You should see this next if you clicked on the right link:
GARMIN COMMUNICATOR PLUGIN FOR CHROME UPDATE
(on my screens I actually don't see a link to my.)įrom main website to get to the map update page you click on the box on the lower left here:

If your plugin is installed correctly then you'll get to a userid/password login. What you should click then is the "next" button. OK what 1 should be saying, is warning/reminding that you need to sign in with the password that's registered as at my. (not gpssociety). So I find a link to myGarmin and sign in. Has anyone been required and able to use Garmin Express for this goddam map update? Edited Septemby Obb Seems the device had to be connected when it was "off" (despite the pictures on the Garmin website.)īut it keeps saying Manage your maps with Garmin Express.īut Garmin Express does not seem to know about the Thailand Map Update. Seriously, you evil corporation, military supplier, bastards:Įdit: Now Garmin Communicator has recognized my device. Until the wheel falls off and some innocent dies a gruesome death. (In Thailand, just smile and pretend everything's OK. Am trying to get answers from f*cking useless Garmin - both in Taiwan and the USA. The Garmin Communicator troubleshooting FAQ leads one to an error page. Many tries later, still cannot get Communicator to detect my device. In any event, when I sign in to myGarmin, and try to register, it says I must register using Express, which I did months ago. It is unable to detect it in Firefox and it is unable to detect it in Chrome.
GARMIN COMMUNICATOR PLUGIN FOR CHROME INSTALL
In Firefox, was able to download and install Garmin Communicator. As suspected, using Chrome had no effect on the whole sorry mess that is Garmin.
